A. A rule of thumb for violets. The pot should be 1/3rd the diameter of the plant, i.e. a nine (9) inch plant = a three (3) inch pot. Measure the plant from leaf tip to leaf tip to determine the size of pot you should use.
For the casual grower, do not use a pot larger than four (4) inches; break off the outer row of leaves to keep the plant in proper proportion to the pot. Crowded roots will produce better blossoming. Plant only one plant per pot.
